Norwich Castle - Eloise

Our Egyptian Day at Castle Museum

On the 5th of November we (Miss Hanton`s birthday) we went to the castle museum to learn about the Ancient Egyptians. It was only KS2.

First there was an argument about whether archaeologists should take artefacts from the Egyptian tombs.
Next DR Derry told us about shabtis, the gods Amun, Bes, Isis , Osiris and Horus.
After that we went into a room where we did Time travelling. When we had time travelled we pretended that to be Ancient Egyptians.

After a lady told us about mummifying .  We smelt liquid the best smelling was Frankincense.
Finally we went to make neck collars. We had to stick shiny pieces of paper on. It was really fun.
We all had a really fun day.

                                                                           Norwich Castle

On November 5thKS2 went to Norwich castle. I sat next to Alfie .We went to learn about Ancient Egyptians.
First we were archaeologists with a man called Dr Derry. I loved looking at the Egyptian history.
After a lady took us to do Egyptian drama. The boys had to cut corn. The girls had to wash clothes.
Next was lunchtime. I had tuna sandwiches, dried apricots, fusil bar, apple juice and grapes.
Then mummification. They put a hook up the mummy’s nose and pulled the brain out.   Egyptians were cool.
Last of all we made neck dresses. When it came to the glue it was very sticky .The shiny coloured paper was so smooth.
